Upbringing of the Biewer Terrier

Raising of a Biewer is not difficult.

The first teachers for the baby are the mother and the breeder.

Since the day of birth and for the next two weeks, the breeder stays near the mom and newborns for 24 hours a day. The breeder gets up on an alarm clock every 2-3 hours for the first two weeks after the birth of the babies in order to help the puppies find their mother at the right time and eat their fill of delicious milk.

Sometimes mommy does not have enough milk and some of the puppies need to be artificially fed during the day, sometimes the entire period until the first supplementary canned food.

Since the age of one month, the breeder provides the puppies with the proper first food. Often it is sweet cottage cheese, canned meat and dipped in water ready-made food. The balanced nutrition that a puppy will receive after mother's milk will lay the foundation for proper digestion and good health.

After 2 weeks of a puppy's life, the breeder is already treating babies for protozoan parasites; after 3 weeks – treatments for the main types of helminths.

After the age of 2 months, routine vaccination for infectious diseases begins. Treatments for endo-parasites are continuing between vaccinations.

All planned procedures end around the age of 3 months. Up to this age the puppy should live in the house of the breeder.

Till this age, the baby completely switches to independent feeding, learns to go to the certain place for toilet, on a diaper or a specialized tray. The breeder also accustoms the puppies to bathing, blow-drying and other hygiene procedures. It is very important that all these upbringing moments take place regularly and positively. Because if something brings discomfort to the baby, then he behaves restlessly and in the future combing or bathing can turn into exhausting procedures for both the baby and its owners.

After the transfer of the puppy to new owners, the entire responsibility for the health of the puppy falls on the new owner. In tandem with the breeder the new “parents” will continue to raise their baby following all the breeder`s recommendations.

Only careful adherence to all recommendations can guarantee that the puppy will grow and develop correctly. Keeping in touch with the breeder and raising a puppy together allows you not to make a lot of mistakes, be happy with your healthy, active and obedient pets for many years.
